How to have perfect eyebrows – How to Get Perfect Eyebrows: The Best Tips and Tricks

How to have perfect eyebrows

Ok ladies,if your eyebrows resemble to any of the first three pictures shown here, than we need to talk!  Seriously! Ever since I have read The Makeup Guide and  Express Makeup by Rae Morris, I was obsessed with finding my perfect brow shape. And trust me, the brow shape really matters and it can make a huge difference to your look. You can even reshape your face shape,  make the nose appear smaller and the eyes less puffy. The most important thing to remember is to follow your natural shape as this is usually the perfect brow for your face shape.

The two most common eyebrows mistakes

Thin and rounded eyebrows:The rounded shape creates puffy and droopy lids. This is the number one brow shape to immediately add years to your face. There is too much space between lash-line & brows. So keep it straight to give the illusion of a thinner face.

Over arched eyebrows or the so called ever surprised  look: Don’t go overboard with your arch, according to Rae Morris a straighter brow is more youthful and more sophisticated. An over arched brow creates a puffy eyelid and lots of saggy space above your eye that instantly ages you about ten years! So basically the less you arch your brows, the younger you’ll look.

This is a typical eyebrow shape that  is usually thought in most beauty schools, which is not wrong, but if you want to make most of your looks, have a look below just to see how a perfect shape can make a difference.

This is the perfect brow shape according  make-up artist Rae Morris. Eyebrow has an arch that cuts through the brow bone, narrows and straightens your nose and lifts your eyes. Also note that the arch isn’t in the centre of the brow-it is very off centre, making the eye longer, sexier and with no «surprised» look!

Steps to follow for perfect brow shape:

1. Start directly up from the edge of your nose

If you want the illusion of a thinner nose, start your brow at your desired nose bridge width .The further apart your brows, the wider your nose looks.

2. your brow should end in line with the corner of your nose and the outer corner of your eye
3.  Your brow arch should be in line with the outer edge of your iris

The perfect colour for your eyebrows?
Blondes should go one or two shades darker to define their brows. Dark blondes can go to a light brown. Everyone else should match their natural colour.
Use an angled makeup brush to apply an eyeshadow that matches your hair colour to fill in and shape your brows.

If your brows are over plucked and you can’t remember your natural shape, then  check back on your  childhood or old school photos  to find your natural brow shape.  Let them grow out completely and find a an good makeup artist to reshape them.  For more tips and tricks on perfect brows have a look at Rae Morris books, Makeup The Ultimate Guide and Express Makeup. I highly can recommend them both.

So tell me ladies, what do your brows look like? Do you pay any attention to your brow shape at all?

How to have perfect eyebrows

Today, Bellefbeauty.com has another tutorial for you, and of course it would have to be about eyebrows, because anyone who knows me would know that I’m eyebrow crazy, to me,  it’s probably one of the fastest (and easiest) ways to Enhance What’s Yours (not to mention how perfect eyebrows just lift your face!)

So how can you have perfect eyebrows? It’s really simple, and as you can see, you really don’t need that many tools (so if you dare to leave your house without your eyebrows done, this is perfect for when you’re on the go!)

Without further ado, here are the steps for having perfect eyebrows:

  1. Pluck out any unwanted hair – it will only get in the way!
  2. Comb out your eyebrows
  3.  Using an eyebrow pencil, outline your eyebrows to the shape that you want it to have.
  4.  Use an eyebrow powder that complements you (avoid using black alone even if you have dark hair)
  5. Fill in your brows using a brow brush
  6. Get a concealer
  7. Conceal above and below your brow using a concealer brush to perfect your brows and ensure that they are perfectly shaped
  8. Add a highlighter under your arch
  9. Voila! The complete look with some mascara!

Note: If you have stubborn brows, finish up with eyebrow gel- this will set your eyebrows and make sure your hairs are not flying around the place!

I know these eye brows are no Cara Delevingne (it wouldn’t be right to talk about eye brows and not give her a mention!) but you have to remember not everyone can have the same eyebrow shape.

If you’re unsure of what shape your eyebrows should have, check out my first post on perfect eyebrows.

How to get perfect eyebrows

If you want perfect eyebrows, you have a few options: you can go to a salon and get them waxed or threaded, or you could can create the perfect shape yourself. First figure out what shape is best for your face, then decide how thick or thin to go and shape your brows using tweezers and an eyebrow pencil. With great eyebrows, you can be one step closer to that movie star look. Grab those tweezers!

Step 1: Find the place where your brows should begin. Finding just the right spot for your inner brows to start is key to creating perfect brows, since starting too far in could throw off the balance of your face.[1] To figure out where your inner brows should start, use the following technique:

  • Take a pencil or another long, thin instrument. Line it up from the corner of your eye to the edge of your nose.
  • The place where the instrument overlaps your brow is where it should begin. Mark the spot by making a dot there with an eyeliner pencil. Repeat on the other side.

Step 2: Find the spot where your eyebrow arch should peak. Most eyebrows naturally arch around the eye, and finding the place where the arch peaks is essential to making them look perfect. Use the same long, thin instrument to figure out where your arch should peak by following this technique:

  • Look straight ahead in the mirror.
  • Line up the instrument with the outer edge of your nostril and the outer edge of your iris.
  • The place where the instrument crosses your brow is where your arch should peak. Mark it with a dot using an eyeliner pencil. Repeat on the other side.

Step 3: Determine where your brow should end. Finding the right place for brow to end is as important as where it begins. You want your brows to frame your eyes gracefully. Find the right spot by lining up the long, thin instrument in this way:

  • Line up the instrument from the edge of your nostril to the outer corner of your eye.
  • The place where the instrument crosses your outer brow is the place where it should end. Mark the spot with a dot using an eyeliner pencil.

Step 4: Determine how thick you want your brows to be. Perfect eyebrows for someone else may not be perfect eyebrows for you. The thickness of your eyebrows is a personal decision that should be influenced by the following factors:

  • The size of your eyes. If your eyes are on the bigger side, thicker brows can help balance them out. If they’re small, thick brows might overshadow them, so you’ll want to choose a brow thickness that’s slightly thinner.
  • The size of your lips. A good general rule of thumb is that your eyebrows should be about the same thickness as your upper lip. This can help ‘tie the look together’. If you look at pictures of models in magazines than you’ll notice this is the case with many of them.
  • The distance between your brows and your eyes. If you have a low brow bone that is set close to your eyes, you’ll want to pull up your brows a bit to lighten the area. If you have a high brow line spaced well above your eyes, heavier brows might provide a more balanced look.
  • Your style preferences. Sometimes thick, bushy eyebrows are in style, and sometimes more people prefer them to be thin and well-tailored. Think about what style you’re going for before you dive into plucking your brows.

HOW TO HAVE PERFECT EYEBROWS ALL THE TIME

Nothing beats the feeling of having a fresh set of perfectly arched eyebrows. Of course getting my brows groomed from time to time is what keeps them looking clean and full, but knowing how to properly care for them myself is very helpful with how busy my schedule gets. The truth is everyone can have perfect eyebrows once they nail down five vital grooming and styling tips. If you don’t get it the first time, don’t stress—remember eyebrows are supposed to be sisters, not twins! Follow these steps to get yourself started.

To determine you where eyebrows should start and end, as well as where to properly locate your ideal arch, you’ll need an eyebrow pencil to mark the right points. Match your pencil up to the outer corner of your eyes from your nostril to mark where your eyebrows should end. Then move your pencil to right above the pupil to mark where your arch should be. Finally, to mark where they should start move your pencil upright and mark this point.

The easiest way to clean up your eyebrows after determining your shape is trimming any unruly, longer hairs. Taking a spoolie brush, softly brush up both of your eyebrows and with a small eyebrow or eyelash scissor lightly trim straight across. This step is easy because you’ll have a clear view of the hairs that you should be getting rid of.

Tweezing is where the “cleaning” part really comes in. Get rid of strays by looking closely underneath the brow bone where thicker ones like to form. Don’t forget to get in close and clean the top of your brows and the center in between both of them for the most effective tweezing session.

While filling is certainly important, you don’t want to go overboard with this step either. Find a product that will create the most natural looking fibers on your eyebrows to fill in any sparse areas. I love Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Brow Wiz and Glossier’s Boy Brow for filling in my brows. They get the job done, but still leave my eyebrows looking natural once I’m done.

Sometimes you’ll need to add in this step to ensure that your brows stay in good shape all day. I like taking a simple clear eyebrow gel and just applying one swipe when I’m done with my makeup to ensure they’ll stay looking extra good. If you want to add even more definition you can always use a concealer to carve out the shape of your brows and blend it out into the rest of your makeup.

How to Get Perfect Eyebrows

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images

Big, beautiful brows have really grown on us…literally.

Seeing Cara Delevingne, Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Lopez‘s eyebrow transformations has been a real eye opener.

It seems like a lot of beauty brands have been churning out brow products to meet the growing demand, while many consumers are willing to spend more money and time to get the perfect shape.

But for those of you with more shallow pockets or could use just a few more suggestions, tips and tricks, we offer you just that. Using an image of Demi Lovato circa Season Two of The X Factor, we demonstrate how placement and a balanced eyebrow can transform a face.

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images

The function of eyebrows is to prevent sweat and debris from getting into the eye. They are also important for communicating our facial expressions. Aesthetically, they frame the face.

For the most part, the starting points of the brow should at least hover over the tear duct and align with the center of the nostrils and Cupid’s bow. It’s all about balancing and harmonizing with the rest of the face.

When your starting points are too far apart, it gives the illusion of the face expanding. When one brow is on point and the other is out in left field, it can throw off the balance of the face. Season Two Demi’s brows could benefit from some growing or being filled in closer toward the nose.

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images, Kailey Strachan for E! Online

Step 1: Find the brows’ alignment with a pencil. Hold it up in front of the nose to where the pencil aligns with the center of the nostrils and the high points of the Cupid’s bow.

Don’t worry if it’s all not perfect—everyone’s face is different. These are just guidelines to help get you on the right track.

Now take your brow product and meet your brows’ current bottom starting point and simply sketch or lightly swipe a line toward the nose, continuing at the angle of your natural brow. Repeat this step with the top part of the brow so that the two lines are parallel.

Softly fill in the sparse parts in between the lines. Blend with a brow brush.

Usually when a face is at rest, an eyebrow arch is the highest point of the eyebrow. If it’s not, you may want to re-think your brow.

When the starting brow points are higher than the arch it can give off a worried look. If the middle part of the brow is at the highest point, it might be because the brow is too rounded, which can sometimes give off a surprised look, a 1920s makeup look or be reminiscent of clown makeup—and that’s no joke.

Demi’s top brow is headed in the right direction; it just stops a little short of completing the frame.

Step 2: From the center of the nose, align the pencil through the iris and on to where the brow would be if there were hair there. If your arch point meets the pencil then awesome! If not or if you want it more defined, take your brow product and sketch in the continuation of the brow out to meet that point.

The tail of the eyebrow can be tricky as it, for the most part, naturally sparse. The brow tails are the sides of the frame. If they go too in toward the eye, they can close off the face, give the illusion of sagging or mimic how the brow looks when the eyes are hard-core squinting

If tails are too far out, it can get pretty Spock-esque or look like a face-lift gone eschew.

Step 3: To find your brow tail, align the pencil at the nose with the eye’s lower water line until the tip lines up under the point we found in Step 2. Start sketching in rounded strokes between the points. Avoid just drawing a line; this could make the brows look really severe. Then blend out with a brow brush.

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images, Kailey Strachan for E! Online

Step 4: Now let’s focus on how they align with each other so that they’re less sisters and more twins. Take your pencil and line up the top and bottom start points with the opposite brow. If they meet, great! In Demi’s photo, her top points met, but her bottom brow points needed some filling in to meet.

After determining the brows’ meeting points, it’s time to focus on the lower brow line. Keep the bottom brow line parallel to the top part of the brow line to avoid the dreaded «tad pole» brow. Some think that this is how you carve out an arch, but it just makes for an uneven shape.

Step 5: Align your pencil from under the lower brow point and keep it parallel to the upper brow line. Any «naked» space above the pencil should be sketched in. If there is no hair there at all, feel free to be a bit more liberal with how much color you’re applying.

Step 6: Finding your inner brow arch, or the part where the inner brow starts to curve, is as simple as taking your pencil and aligning it from the upper brow arch point to the lower brow line. Here’s where the brows’ falling action begins.

Step 7: Sketch in smooth, small, circular strokes toward the tail ending point that we determined in Step 3.

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images

The above photo really shows the parts of the brow that were filled in to balance Demi’s brows. Always remember that beauty is in the eye of the brow-holder. It’s always great to know your brows capabilities and what works best for you.

Timothy Hiatt/Getty Images

Demi eventually moved on to bigger and better brows, but we love her either way!
