I have had several massage sessions with Jason Fogleman and enthusiastically recommend him as a professional, caring, and very skilled massage therapist.
I started working with Jason as the result of a sports injury to my hamstring, and I have been much improved following every session. Between sessions, Jason communicated not only with me, but also (at my suggestion) with the physical therapist who was helping me with the same injury.
He has impressed me with his knowledge of anatomy and physiology and his contagious enthusiasm for the many techniques and strategies that could be brought to bear in fostering my healing. He has been an important and committed part of the team of healers and coaches supporting me through the recovery process.
Before my first sessions with Jason, I was not sure how I would feel about a massage therapist of the opposite sex, but Jason creates a comfortable and relaxed environment for massage that is 100% professional and respectful. In every session, I have felt safe, relaxed, and completely comfortable with his care. I appreciate that he invites clients to dress to their level of comfort and is very communicative, both at the beginning of a session and at every step of the way, about what he will be doing, how he may need to position the body or the drape, and how the client is responding to each step.
Jason is also tremendously skilled. I have learned a lot about how my muscles, tendons, and fascia work from my sessions with Jason, and he would often share with me something that he had recently learned that was exciting to him as a possible key to helping me heal. I wish all of the medical professionals in my life showed that kind of enthusiasm for learning new techniques to support their patients!
And Jason’s physical skills as a therapist show that same commitment to learning a variety of techniques to help each patient heal, relax, and feel their best. He has used trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, stretching, and posture work in our sessions and he always manages to find the areas of tightness or pain and release them, giving me tremendous relief and great improvement in my athletic performance.
I cannot say enough good things about Jason Fogleman as a massage therapist. I hope to continue to work with him throughout the remainder of the healing process and beyond. I have recommended Jason to several friends and will certainly continue to do so. I always feel confident that, with Jason, I am quite literally in good hands.

Established in October of 2000. It began as the brainchild of Matt and 2 other friends. Over the years we grew apart and headed our separate ways. In 2006, HHMT joined Village Wellness Center and combined services under one roof. In 2008, we moved to our current, beautiful location at 422 Post Rd, in Warwick. We have added new staff and services over the years and now offer 9 styles of massage therapy, Reiki, Esthetics(skin care and waxing), Belly Dance classes, Zero Balancing, Alexander Technique and most recently we have added Personal training, pregnancy support and childbirth education classes.
Massage is an old healing art. It was known to our ancestors and was practiced after bathing and exercise to balance and center the body. They understood that health involves equal development of the mind and body. In the world we live in, we rarely take time to allow our bodies to recover from the rigors and pressures of every day routines. Endless meetings, deadlines and errands can lead to burnout and illness which will eventually make us ineffective in our work and home lives. Massage is one way to lessen and relieve these stresses that dull our minds and weaken our bodies. Massage is basically touch. Using the palms of the hands, the forearms, fingertips, elbows and knuckles, the therapist will stroke, push, pull, knead and tap away tension, muscular pain and stiffness from your body. We at Heart in Hand believe massage is the key to the best life, pain free. We weren’t given an owner’s manual when we were born, so we have to learn as we go. Massage is one step on the path. Is it necessary to go to a massage therapist for healing hand massage? Can I do it myself if I just look at the pressure points from a reflexology chart?
@allenJo— I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and I agree with you, massage helps a lot. My doctor was the one who suggested this to me. He said to have my husband or daughter massage my hands starting from the fingers and moving towards my wrists.
I don’t know why massaging towards the fingers is bad for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. However, I’ve been having my daughter massage my hands for about five minutes every day and the pain has gotten a little less. I wish there were hand massage tools available so that I wouldn’t have to rely on someone else though.
I won a free facial at a spa once and it was such a pleasant surprise when I found out that the facial included a mini hand massage.
It wasn’t a very extensive massage and I don’t think the girl was a certified massage therapist, but she still seemed to know what she was doing. She basically used her thumbs and massaged the inside of my palms in upward movements. She finished up by lightly massaging my fingers.
It actually felt really good and it was very relaxing. I generally enjoy facials a lot, but the hand massage was definitely the best part about this facial. I might go for a full hand-massage at a massage parlor sometime.
Has anyone gotten an extensive hand massage by a massage therapist? What did you think about it?
@allenJo — One of the most effective hand massage techniques is to keep the hand all the way open, and then in circular motions apply a massage all around the hand on the palm. Then turn your hand over and do the same for that side.
Finally, massage the section between the thumb and the index finger. This is where your store a lot of tension especially if you type a lot.
I follow these techniques and have been able to minimize a lot of the pain that I usually get while typing. This is very important for me as I type all day.
I lived in Asia for some time and did a lot of walking around with bare sandals. After awhile my feet got really tired and I went to a local country club and got a foot massage. Actually they claimed to be using reflexology.
I was shown a chart with all the pressure points on the foot and the parts of the body they corresponded to. I was given the foot massage and it was one of the most relaxing treatments I’ve ever received; it made my whole body feel alive.
I can’t vouch for whether it had any particular curative powers for my body as a whole, but it did make me feel much better, and thereafter I made it a part of my weekly regimen.
@allenJo — I do the same thing except that I use battery powered hand massagers. These units operate in a gyroscopic manner to apply deep massage to the pressure points, and they can be set to varying degrees of intensity. The unit I have also has a heat switch which really helps too.
I had carpal tunnel syndrome for some time and experienced tremendous relief by applying kneading hands massage therapy. I apply massage to three points in my palm: near my thumb, opposite the thumb but near the wrist and on the upper part of my palm. Basically these three pressure points form a triangle on my palm.
What this does is to release the tension on the muscles that are pressing against the median nerve. As these muscles are relaxed, I felt less pressure in the carpal tunnel and I could type more freely.
This massage basically mimics what happens in a carpal release, which is a surgical approach that physically widens that area pressing on the median nerve. However, you can accomplish the same results using massage therapy techniques, and avoid surgery altogether.
